Zoo with the Steeles

Jon's brother & family are in town for the week, and we visited the zoo in the freezing cold yesterday. There's still quite a bit of snow up there. Lots of animals were huddling up, but we could still see them.

Talk about a pretty rear end!

Ellen LOVED the ergo, and eventually fell asleep (she's not used to being held & falling asleep).

Fancy Nancy

We saved our presents for when we got home--one was this "princess fairy" dress (actually a Fancy Nancy). She loooves it, of course.

Ummm...group pictures (?)

My mom alluded to the fact that this was NOT an ideal picture day. But we tried.

Back to the Welch's

Christmas Day

The trike. That was the big one. She loved it, and we had to stop everything to let her ride it (not that we actually had a chance to get started).

We only brought down a couple of small things--crown, earrings, ring, and necklace included.
Emily basically "helped" everyone open their presents...so she pretty much opened every present. Cindy had to watch carefully so we'd know who the giver/recipient were.
Uncle Jeff got her a horrible dress...the only thing that distracted her from the trike. And, she wore the dress the next four days.
Ahh--not a cheerleader!
Even the "underwear" were decorated.

Don't mind my pajama pants--it was vacation. Emily actively bowled with Cindy & me on the wii. Ellen just kept eating...
I got an ergo (recommended by many), and both Ellen and I love it.

Christmas Eve--the park

Tuesday--the Welches

We went & hung out at Uncle Jim's on Tuesday evening.

Emily fell in LOVE with Lindsey, and made her paint nails, have her nails painted, read, etc, etc.

The start of the Christmas pictures--driving down

We were worried about snow over the Siskiyous, but luckily it was dry and beautiful.

We stopped for Emily to go to the bathroom somewhere in southern Oregon, and the first option was a port-a-potty. She did NOT like (or use) that option.
The state park was a much better option.
We spent the night in Sacramento with Uncle Jeff. Sleeping arrangements were hilarious.
