Halloween Tats

Is it still called a "sleeve" if it's on your leg?

Trying on Costumes

I dug out the costume box this evening, and the girls had fun playing in the costumes. Ellen will actually use the alligator tomorrow, but tonight it didn't matter. The girls were enthralled with their reflections, so I had to take pictures of the mirror.

"Mom! They're costumes for my feet!!"

Making Sugar Cookie Dough

We're going to attempt to make pumpkin-shaped cookies.
With orange frosting.
The girls were thrilled about helping.

Things were going well.
Ellen was once again enthralled with the mixer.

And then there was a slight flour spill by a certain 3-year-old.

And that was just too, too tempting.

And I figured it was just flour, and I was going to have to sweep anyway.
Go for it.

The Tent--inspired by Blues Clues

Can you just see her strategizing while Steve & Blue are building their tent?

After a little while it was more fun to be Godzilla than a tent-dweller.

Kitty cat?

She seriously acts like a real cat. It's just fingers instead of a paw.

The Experiment

We "transformed" the crib into a "big girl bed" for Emily.

Ellen moved to the toddler bed. Well, okay, so she's on the floor next to it. But she was in it at one point.

What led to "The Experiment"

On Sunday, Ellen climbed up into Emily's bed (before naptime) and fell asleep.

Chin bubble

My sheets are apparently always clean. Or being washed, at least.

Ellen sneaked (I know I'm an English teacher, but sneaked still sounds weird to me) into my room when I was washing sheets and decided that it was actually her giant playground. I was sneaky and got this when she wasn't looking. Granted, she quit doing all of the particularly funny stuff, but you might get the idea.

Tickle, tickle, tickle

Or "kickle, kickle, kickle," as Ellen says.

We're back

Our desktop died and was gone for a week and a half. In the middle of that, our laptop went out, too. Being computerless for four days was weird. But now we're back, and I've got things to post.

Washing sheets=trampoline

No comment on Emily's outfit.

18 months

Ellen's 15-month stats: 31 1/2 in, 23 1/2 pounds

Ellen's 18-month stats: 33 in, 25 pounds

I think 1 1/2 pounds and 1 1/2 inches in 3 months is a lot. Seems that way to me.
But her growth chart seems the same, really: 90th percentile in height, 60th in weight.
That height did not come from me.
