At least I'll know when they're up

Yes, that's Emily under her dog blanket. With her head between her sister's ankles.

"Spring" Cleaning

After getting the bunk bed straightened out, I decided to attack the entire room. I organized and put away all sorts of toys, threw away a ton of trash, and put ALL of the 18-month clothes away. I realize my organization will only last a day or so, but it looks wonderful in there for the time being.

Princess Bed

I finally hung the canopy over Ellen's bed, and she was beyond thrilled.

*please excuse her shirt--she had eaten a sucker earlier in the day. She doesn't swallow when she eats suckers.

The best toys

Yesterday we got the mattress for the top bunk. Ellen thoroughly checked it out.

Climber

Seriously. The girl will scale anything. Especially if there's a car at the top.

Ellen

Ellen loves the camera--she screams, "Cheese!" when she sees it. So, while intended to get video of her blowing bubbles like crazy in the tub, this is what I got...a game of "splash Mommy."

Bob Barker & Emily...

Proponents of spaying and neutering your animals. ALL of them.
My parents' dog is wearing a cone after her surgery, and Emily felt the need to put a cone on her lizard, monkey, snake, dog...and asked if she could put one on Ellen.

Valentine's breakfast for the girlies

Pink heart pancakes

(The first one looked the best. Emily said these looked more like Mickey.)

Making Valentines

On Friday we bought some paint and glitter and set about making Valentines.
They may not look too traditional, but the girls had PLENTY of fun making them.

LITERAL quote: "Mom, this paint tastes like chicken."
Where does she get this?

Finished valentines (notice the googly eyes made an appearance):

Heading back...

Emily slept in this box the whole weekend (with blankets, of course).

Grandma has CRAYONS

I'm pretty sure these are from when I was a kid.

Dentist

Our local pediatric dentist is out of control. It's insane there. Nearly overwhelming. I think Emily was in awe and exclaiming the ENTIRE time.

First, she played with the giant doll house.

Then, a real cash register that worked and everything.

And finally the kitchen, with a fully-stocked fridge and microwave that seemed to work as well (light went on, rotating plate inside, humming). I'm pretty sure our copay went directly to his Pottery Barn Kids credit card.

Emily was super still during her x-rays (the hygienist said she was the best of the day); it probably helped that she had a princess movie about three feet from her face on her own TV.

Then it was toy-picking time...she was able to choose two because she was so good. As I led her to the "girls side" to look through the various foofy things she's generally so attached to, she yelled, "Snakes!!" and immediately chose two. The snakes went with us to Costco, and they are currently bathing with Emily and Ellen.

She also got to pick a Dora toothbrush, got cool flossers (all in a popcorn box), and at the end of her visit the dentist (yes, the dentist himself) took a picture of the proud patient next to a giant giraffe. We'll scan the picture later--you'll have to endure the picture of a picture for the time being.

Lame sidenote: she's got a few "sticky spots" in her deep crevices that need to be fixed, so we'll be going back in a few weeks.

The wedding--#3

More randomness...
