Hand tattoos

The girls got cool hand tattoos. Emily's are monsters, and Ellen's are robots (tractors).

Meet Guster

We adopted Gus from the Long Beach animal shelter. They're guessing he's around 7 months old. He had been hit by a car, and a vet tech had him in foster care while he healed, so he's already pretty house trained and knows some basic commands. He lets the girls crawl all over him, and doesn't seem to mind when Abby tries to eat his food. We love him!

The beach at Long Beach

We didn't get pictures on the first day, but it was windy enough to fly kites, which the girls love. Abby ate sand by the handful, and crawled in circles nonstop.

Long Beach

We had a 3-day weekend, and thanks to cousin Julie (and Bryan), we headed out to Long Beach. We lucked out with some AMAZING sunny weather, and didn't have to spend the whole weekend in our jammies watching movies...not that we would have minded.

Cam's Man Cave was quite popular, and our girls spend lots of time playing in there. Which is kind of funny, since it's the smallest room.

Abby has decided to make silly faces for the camera.

Soccer games

Today was Emily's second soccer game. In the first game, I'm not sure if she ever touched the ball. She said that no one was sharing with her. I guess it's time to un-learn what we spent the first five years teaching her.

Ellen would like you to know that she has pockets.

Things were a bit slow for a while...this boy is probably our star player. He and Emily did plenty of dancing, karate, dives and twirls during their rest.

But then, in a glorious moment, the soccer hero was out and Emily was back in. And it was like a light switch. She was suddenly playing soccer.

AND SHE SCORED TWO GOALS!!!

And then she called Aunt Cindy immediately after we got to the van.
