Quick Ellers update

She has her first tooth on top (another appearing soon), crawls everywhere, and LOVES to eat...yogurt, applesauce, veggies, and most recently--graham crackers.

More from yesterday

We did a little playing in the bedroom yesterday. There was some jumping on the bed:

(Check out how crazy-high the mattress is)

Scariest face EVER. You can tell it was a landing...and perhaps what she'll look like when she's old...

There was also some sisterly playing with the lights. Mainly because I'm trying to get Ellen to practice standing.

They toybox always contains some old favorites--toys that have been hidden so long that they seem new. Perfect. And cheap.

Some from today

Cutie. Don't judge her for wearing Halloween jammies in February.

A little (?) lip gloss...for lips and fingers.

Best story ever

We have a student at our school who has REALLY sticky fingers--that's why he's there. Another student was using a projection machine (a tracer) to work on a mural in our building for his senior project. The tracer went missing...and we had one really obvious suspect. After Joe (our principal) had talked to nearly all of our staff, he confronted our sticky-fingers kid in a pretty vague way...saying that what was missing needed to be back by the end of the day, etc. Well, a little while later Joe learned that our secretary had put the tracer in her office--it wasn't missing after all. So he felt kind of bad about accusing Sticky Fingers. Then, this cell phone magically appeared on his desk! We're thinking Joe should confront Sticky Fingers on a weekly basis.

More quotes

Emily likes to "kick" Jon when she's swinging. Yesterday at the park she asked him, "Can I kick you in the Daddy Button?" Um, no.

Last week when we were eating she asked for salad (weird girl loves it!), and then she asked to have "white ketchup" (ranch) on it.

TV-watchin' seat

The artist

After her Valentine's Day fun, she has decided to make pictures for friends & family. If you get something in the mail this week, it was Emily's choice to make it for you! Her workshop is quite...artsy (as opposed to messy, I suppose).

Old markers are scary

I found some old markers when I dug out my old craft box. I let Emily use some because I didn't notice the problem...needless to say, she was soon covered in leaky red ink.

Valentine's Day

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We headed out to an early dinner at Olive Garden (to beat the crowds, which we did). We wandered around some stores, kid-free. Then we went to see a movie, and had ice cream treats from Sonic. Auntie Kim was the amazing free babysitter (well, we got pizza & Sonic for her, so, you know, it was a couple of dollars). She brought down crafty supplies and Emily made us a beautiful valentine.

Room re-arrange

This weekend we changed out Ellen's clothes--put away all of the small ones, and unpacked all of the 12-month ones. Then we lowered her bed, just because we could. The girl isn't pulling up on anything. At all.

"Daddy, your hair is so beautiful! Just like me!"

Quote of the day

Emily climbed in bed with us this morning to snuggle. She told me that she needed her pacifier, and I told her she needed to look for it. Here's what she said:

"Okay. Hey, I found it! Thanks, hand. You're welcome!"

Angry pedi

These are Emily's angry eyes. Whenever someone looks angry, she says they look like this. If only that were really the case.

Ever since Sarra came over with her cute pedicured toes with the flowers, Emily has wanted the same. Today's color of choice was green. And I think I did a pretty good job of putting flowers on the big toes, too.

Thursday

This blur is Emily, wanting to be in the picture, as always. It turned out kinda cool.

New tricks

Not sure what the funny head shake is, but she started it yesterday.
