I finally captured some of Emily's singing while she was in the bath today. It wasn't her best version of songs, but it wasn't her worst. You'll have to excuse my voice--I could blame the cold, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't sound good even if I weren't sick :). When you notice that she keeps going back to the Barney song, I want to assure you that she's never seen it in this house--I completely blame daycare. I also notice that when she's in the middle of the alphabet and gets to "i," she tends to veer off into the Barney song. Poor girl.

Ponytail
Some of Emily's teachers were giving me a hard time because of her long hair, and how it's always in her face. I determined to let it grow, and not give her bangs, so I've been trying to train it to go to the side. The other day she came home with this ponytail (thanks to Bibi), and she was in love. She cried and cried when I took it out, but until today, she wouldn't let me put another one in. I didn't take a picture of today's attempt because I'm a little embarrassed at how bad it turned out!

Fat lip
Emily slipped this afternoon and crashed into the coffee table, splitting her lip. I know it could've been A LOT worse, but there was still a good amount of blood--I was glad Jon was here. She didn't cry much, and was more than excited to suck on a piece of ice, which was good. Most of the swelling was on the inside, so I didn't get very impressive pictures. I mean, this first one looks like she was drunk and that's why she fell.

Visit from Jeff
Jeff surprised me and came for a visit this weekend. He showed up Thursday afternoon, and got to stay until Sunday afternoon. He played TONS with Emily, and became a quick favorite (she's still wandering around saying, "Jeff...Jeff...Jeff...). He brought her this dog, which we've had to drag around since then. He also makes a comfortable bed, apparently.
Asleep again (aka spoiled)...
Patty cake (Sidenote, I put this outfit together specifically so that she could wear the tights. Crazy, I know.)

Goodbye Christmas Break
I did NOT want to go back to school today. As much as we missed our families at Christmas, it was great to have two and a half weeks here (Jon was off one of them) to do stuff around the house and have family time. It seemed like a long break, and I felt very well-rested, but I still don't want to go back. I keep reminding myself that I actually only have three more months.

A few of my favorite things
Pregnancy update
I'll try to get a belly shot soon. I'm currently 26 weeks, +12 pounds, and once again failed my glucose test (by 2 points!!!). Friday I took the 3-hour glucose test, so I guess I'll find out Monday if I have to do the diet again--I'm assuming I will. Last time I passed the test, but was close, which is why I did the diet.

Back when I was ambitious and thought I might actually get Christmas pictures/cards made...
Recent Emily-isms
*I think she got tired of me asking what things are in books, so this morning she quizzed me..."What's that?" (sounded like "sat?") and pointing to everything.
*In the car she's been seeing birds, and we always have to say hi to the birds. She also calls the dogs when we have to put them out (Deeds, out). Today she combined the two, and when we were driving she kept saying, "Birds, come!" Sadly, they didn't.
*My sister gave Emily a keychain-sized Tickle Me Elmo, so now every toy that makes noise or talks is called Elmo. Elmo also has to travel around with us, and loves to ride in the Little People car all over the house.
