Weekend project (distraction?)--preparing for baby

Before: dining room
Baby's room with stuff from baby shower
Crib still in Emily's room, acting as a giant storage unit
Emily helped by testing the durability of several items, including chalkboard bins...
bouncer...

and the swing. She helped disassemble and reassemble the crib with Daddy. After: the baby's room (we're going to have guests for about a month, so we're going to have the baby in the dining room at night so that people can have a bedroom with a door, and when I'm up in the night I won't disturb anyone).
Emily's room where the crib used to be--looks like the perfect place for a giant toy box (hint, hint).
Emily's room where the changing table (desk) used to be.
Baby's changing table in the dining room.Baby's crib in the dining room.
So, theoretically, we have a few things done now, and it wouldn't be too much of a shock if she showed up. I guess you're supposed to do this at 36 weeks when you're 2cm, right?

Goodbye, Grandma Hale

Grandma Hale went be with God and Papa yesterday evening. I will miss her a ton, and I'm sad that I'm too pregnant (and dilated) to go to her services this weekend. She was the best grandma ever!

Bubbles

We spent a whopping $10 (well worth it) on a bubble machine, but learned that it should only be used outside.

Tree pictures

Saturday (since the sunny, warm weather returned) we played in the yard.

Snow

Friday it snowed pretty much all day. Well, all day during school--it was done & melted by 2:30. These are pictures from my phone, so they're not spectacular.

Of course, the next day it was nearly 70 degrees...

Emily and Kronk

Emily woke Kronk up this morning. But at least she brought her ducks with her.

New utensil?

My mom sent us 5 new animal digital thermometers. Of course I happened to open the duck one first. I let Emily play with it (hey, we have 4 backup!), and the next thing I knew, she was using it to eat her yogurt.

Sidenote: the wild hair is due to a recently pulled out ponytail.

I'm a duck!

Ever since we bought the duck towel, she runs out of the bathroom and screams, "I'm a duck" to whichever of us isn't in the bathroom with her. This wasn't her most enthusiastic exclamation, but you get the idea.

Matchbox cars

I was returning a few things at Target yesterday, and bought Emily a present that she was VERY thrilled with--matchbox cars. Some of the boys have them at school, and she's always jealous. So for 97 cents each, I figured I could get her a pair (one red, one blue). They're not the best pictures, but she wasn't ever still.

Bathtub crayons

Dez, thank you for directing us to the bathtub crayons at Target!!! They were a BIG hit!

Baby shower

I had a shower at church today, and it was a lot of fun. It's kind of weird having a shower for #2, especially when it's another girl. I feel slightly selfish, but it was lots of fun to get new things for the new baby--I mean, she deserves new things!

Cupcake cake
I've included this picture so you can kind of see how big my belly is now (I feel huge).
Another attempt to give you a belly idea.
We made out like BANDITS!
Hooray for diapers, wipes, pacifiers, and other necessities!
